Guess what was the highlight of this year's Panguitch Lake Heritage Arts festival? According to those that took a survey at the event, it was the entertainment! Despite the severe weather warning, the festival was a hit because of the mountain atmosphere, great entertainment, good food, and good company!
As Friday moved into Saturday, we were serenaded by the music of some extraordinary local artists:
"Panguitch Lake served as the center of entertainment in the Southwestern United States [in the 1890s]. Thanks to the lake's cool summer temperatures and a horse racing track, locals, including those who worked in Washington County's Silver Reef Mines, flocked to the area during the summer months, where... an opera house and nightly fish fries provided plenty of diversion."
While the performers were inside the building itself, plenty was happening outside as well! Take a look at some moments captured with some of this year's vendors and exhibitors.
If you didn't make it this year, take a listen to the theme song written by Cherie Call. "Panguitch Lake" will help you learn a little more about the history of this beautiful place!
